сейчас напишу автору письмо, посмотрим, что он ответит. предполагаю, что предложит приобрести у него прошитый микроконтроллер с новой версией программы внутри.. ((

The U3S firmware did just listen to the serial data string and parse the latitude, longitude data from the $GPRMC sentence in the NMEA data. Each NMEA sentence contains a "checksum" at the end, which can be used to validate the received data. However the U3S firmware does not check this checksum, until v3.09c.
I suppose that in your case you are using pull-up resistors from the GPS outputs. There may be times when some glitch occurs and the data is corrupted. Where the checksum is not being checked, this data could corrupt the latitude or longitude and cause an incorrect Locator.
The QRP Labs QLG1 GPS module kit
qrp-lab.com/qlg1 has on-board proper level conversions from the 2.8V logic of the GPS RF module, to the 5V levels needed by the U3S. So glitches are not likely to happen.
In U3S firmware version v3.09c I added "checksum validation" so that if the NMEA sentence checksum does not agree with the sentence contents, the sentence is rejected. This is effective in preventing the occasional false locator.
However one person did report that ALL his sentences were rejected. He was not using the QLG1 GPS, but a uBlox GPS. I assumed that there is some difference in the protocol. So I cannot guarantee that the v3.09c firmware version will solve your problem, because you use a different GPS. In the next firmware version I am planning to make a configuration so that you can choose to switch checksum validation on or off.
I DO know that if you use v3.09c and a QLG1 GPS then this should solve your problem

вчера поставил в свой маяк фнч на 10м и увел частоту туда, пока никто не услышал, мощность не больше 0.1вт.. прохождение вроде бы приоткрывается на этих частотах..
надо будет еще сделать фнч на 15м и 18м, попробовать еще и эти диапазоны..
